Social Distancing During Residential Moving

Social Distancing During Residential Moving

While the bread and butter of the moving process remains the same in this strange Summer of 2020, there’s a few new protocols for safe moving that should be held in mind in order to avoid Covid-19. In this blog entry, the safe professional moving experts here at Noah’s Ark Moving and Storage will detail the best ways to remain socially distant and safe during a residential move!

Brand New Boxes

This might not be as budget-friendly, but purchase brand new moving and packing supplies like boxes rather than reusing recycled ones from other people. Try to order all of your moving supplies from the same place in order to reduce risk.

Moving Safety Guidelines

The whole residential moving team must maintain minimal contact, use face masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer at all times.

Wiping Down Items

Wipe down all boxes, appliances, and furniture with disinfectants wipes BEFORE the move, and AFTER the move in order to prevent potential infection.

Keep the House as Empty as Possible

Try to maintain at least 6 feet of distance between yourself and the moving team. With larger households, this may mean that children should hang out in a park or somewhere secluded outside during moving day. While family members might want to help with the move, it’s probably smarter to stay out of the way and allow the movers to do what they do.

Protect Vulnerable Family Members

If there’s anyone in your home or household who’s elderly or with any kind of disease or physical issues, keep them as isolated as possible during the entire move. High risk people need to keep away from everyone during the move – so if you have any people who fall under this category in your household, inform your movers before the moving process so that they can take strong precautions.
