Always Book Movers in Advance

You will receive much more quality rates for your move the longer in advance you book it. Keep in mind that the highest demand for moving is between April and September – with demand peaking in June, July, and August. Weekends are busier than weekdays. If you schedule your move as far in advance as possible for one of these off-months, off-days, and off-hours you can probably relieve a much cheaper rate.

Local Move Flexibility

If your move is local, within or to a neighboring town, you will have an easier time booking your move sooner to the date. However if you’re planning on moving during the busy Summer months, we will advise you to book it 3 weeks ahead.

Intrastate Moving Booking

If you’re staying in the same State but moving to a new city, we recommend booking your move AT LEAST 3 months in advance. Intrastate moves take about an entire day to complete, and due to this long service time and constant demand, summertime moving blocks fill up rather quickly. If your intrastate move is planned for an off-season, you can book it comfortably 2 months in advance.

Interstate Moving Booking

If you’re planning on moving to a new State, ook your move at least 3-4 months in advance. Some moving companies won’t move across state lines, so make sure that your movers will. Interstate moving companies need to be registered with the United States Department of Transportation. It’s a wise idea to book any interstate moving service you will need as far in advance as possible.

Considering your Moving Needs when Booking

Consider the size of your move – the larger the property you’re moving from / into, the more stuff and time and attention you will require. Consider if you’ll be moving heavy items, antiques, or valuables – like pianos or heirlooms – and ensure that your moving team is equipped to move delicate and rare materials. Also consider what moving services you require – do you want full packing and unpacking service? Do you want your movers to take apart your furniture and put it back together again? Do you want to store your belongings at a storage unit? Consider all your desired moving services, and contact them as far in advance as possible with all this information in order to set a solid booking time, get a cheap rate, an ideally, getting a quote for your move in advance.
