Packing Moving Essentials

Stress Reduction Hacks for Moving Day

Here at Noah’s Ark Moving and Storage, we recommend to all of our clients to separately pack their essential items that they will require during the moving process, and upon arrival at their new property – which greatly simplifies things. In this blog entry, we’ll detail the basics that you need to know regarding packing up those essentials for your move.

Items to Definitely Pack

  1. Go-Bag:

Make sure to pack a go-bag of all the essential items that you need for the first night and day at your new property. This should have clothing, a toothbrush, medication, sleep clothes, pillows, and sheets. Every member of your household should have one of these.

  1. Home-Kit

Have a similar kit for all of your necessary housewares like cleaning stuff, Wi-Fi boxes / codes, toiletries, children’s toys, soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.

  1. Valuebles

Keep all valuable or irreplaceable items – whether expensive or sentimentally important – like photo albums or antiques, with you. It’ll be better for peace of mind.

  1. Records

It’s important to keep important paper documents like titles, passports, financial records, or birth certificates on hand.

  1. Pet Items

Make sure to have toys, food, and beds / sleep stuff for your pets so that they can acclimate to their new environment as soon as possible with commercial items.

Items to Forgo Packing

Save yourself stress and time by not packing clutter like random clothing or decorations. Don’t pack bulky items like books, mattresses, appliances, or books in your car with you – let a trustworthy moving company handle them. If you’re moving far, it really isn’t worth packing food that might spoil or attract vermin. Additionally, you can’t pack items that moving companies won’t transport – which usually includes ammunition, fuel, fireworks, flammable items, and weapons.
