Toss It
If you are moving, especially last minute, it’s the perfect time to throw things you don’t need away. You don’t want to be taking up space you don’t need. Since the move is so spontaneous, you can’t afford second or third trips saved for another day. Everything has to be moved at once and clutter makes it hard. Less stuff means more room for the important things and less time needed to move.
Sorting Time
Since you probably have a limited time to pack, split your items into three piles: one to pack, one to donate, and one to throw away. That way you can head straight to your packing pile with your boxes and get everything put away. The donation pile you can stuff into bags to bring to the Salvation Army later. The throw away pile can go right to the trash bin.
Packing Supplies
You’re on a limited timeline. The easiest places to get packing supplies would be office supply stores and home improvement stores. Lowes and Home Depot have boxes of all shapes as well as packing tape and bubble wrap. Staples and Office Max have tape, bubble wrap, packing paper, labels, etc. A quick drive to your local store should be sufficient to get everything you need.

If you don’t have too much stuff, you can call family and friends to help you move.
